About Dr. Sanjai Jalaj
Dr. Sanjai Jalaj recently joined the practice having completed a fellowship in corneal disease and refractive surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute. His number one desire is to provide the highest quality vision possible utilizing both the most cutting edge and most tried-and-true techniques.
He has advanced training in the latest methods for diagnosing and treating corneal and refractive issues including: Corneal collagen cross-linking for keratoconus, Laser vision correction (LASIK/PRK) for myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia, Laser-assisted cataract surgery including the latest intraocular lens technologies to reduce the need for glasses, Corneal transplantation including minimally invasive techniques such as DMEK to provide the highest quality vision possible while also preserving as much of your natural cornea as possible.
Prior to his fellowship training, Dr. Jalaj completed his ophthalmology residency at Columbia University where he served as chief resident. He also received training in minimally invasive glaucoma procedures to preserve vision and reduce the need for expensive eye drops, intravitreal injections to treat diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration, and oculoplastic surgery for droopy eye lids and wrinkles.
Dr. Jalaj has also shown an interest in giving back and advancing the field of ophthalmology. He is published in numerous medical textbooks and journals, has lectured and taught surgical training courses around the country, is an active member of state, local, and national medical organizations, and has volunteered his time and expertise to both local and international communities.
